Essential Elements for Plant Growth
Reading List
A list of books is necessarily incomplete and subjective. However for my
classes, I recommend:
- J.L. Havlin, J.D. Beaton, S.L. Tisdale, and W.L. Nelson. 1999.
Soil Fertility and Fertilizers. 6th Ed. Prentice Hall, Upper
Saddle River, NJ.
- H. Marschner. 1995. Mineral Nutrition of Higher Plants.
2nd Ed. Academic Press, London.
A number of books contain collections of color photographs of nutrient
deficiencies in a number of crops. Among them are:
- W.F. Bennett. 1993. Nutrient Deficiencies and Toxicities in
Crop Plants. Am. Phytopath. Soc. Press, St. Paul, MN.
- C. Bould, E.J. Hewitt, and P. Needham. 1983. Diagnosis of
Mineral Disorders in Plants: Vol.1 Deficiencies. HM Stat. Office,
London.
